Greetings. It’s been a while, but I am getting back on track. 2013 has been busy with staff training, continuing education classes, and snow! I am pleased to inform you that the snow is on its way out (slowly but surely), but we aren’t out of the woods yet.
With the changing season comes Fargo’s fifth season: Flood Season. It usually lasts a few weeks of volunteer sandbag filling, followed by a week or so of sandbag placement. This is not our first rodeo, as people up and down the Red River Valley have become accustomed to the river swelling a bit after the snow melt. We embrace it! We have taken Mother Nature head-on in the past, and we will be ready again this year.
To all of my friends, neighbors, and fellow Valley residents, good luck on the flood fight!
